The Role

You’ll be part of a collaborative cyber security team responsible for supporting and improving the organisation’s security environment. The role will suit someone who enjoys variety and wants to work across both day-to-day operational security and project delivery.

  • Supporting and administering Microsoft security technologies, including Microsoft Sentinel, Defender and Entra ID.
  • Troubleshooting security-related application and technology issues.
  • Onboarding applications, systems and data sources into the SIEM.
  • Developing and improving security monitoring, detection rules and dashboards.
  • Supporting incident response and security investigations.
  • Working with infrastructure, cloud, applications and other technology teams to resolve security issues.
  • Contributing to cyber security projects, implementations, upgrades and technology improvements.
  • Supporting vulnerability remediation, security hardening and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, procedures and operational processes.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in cyber security who is comfortable working across both BAU and project-based activities.

You’ll ideally have experience with:

  • SIEM platforms, particularly Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Microsoft Defender security technologies.
  • Microsoft Azure and Entra ID.
  • Security monitoring, alert investigation and incident response.
  • Application and technical support within an enterprise environment.
  • Log analysis and KQL.
  • Security event investigation and threat detection.
  • PowerShell or other scripting/automation technologies.
  • ITIL-based incident, problem and change management processes.
  • Delivering or supporting cyber security projects.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a Level 2 Cyber Security, Security Operations or Security Engineering role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to cyber security.
  • The ability to manage BAU priorities while contributing to projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to continuously improve security capabilities.
  • Relevant cyber security qualifications or certifications are desirable.

What's on Offer

  • Permanent position
  • South of the River, Perth location
  • Opportunity to work across SIEM, Microsoft security and application support
  • A genuine mix of BAU and project work
  • Exposure to a broad range of cyber security technologies and initiatives
