Description
Job Expectations A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Cyber Security Incident Response Lead, reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Security Incident Response & Partner Management where you will join the Cyber Defence & Response team. A bit about the role As the Cyber Security Incident Response Lead, you will be responsible for leading nbn’s response to cyber security incidents across the organisation. You will coordinate cross-functional teams during formal Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) activations, ensuring alignment between technical responders, business stakeholders, and external partners. This role requires a deep understanding of cyber security principles, infrastructure networks, and cloud platforms, and the ability to apply incident response best practices in a complex and fast-paced environment. With an on-call 24/7 roster, you will be the escalation point for cyber incidents, providing expert guidance and leadership during and outside business hours. Your responsibilities will include managing incident triage, containment, and recovery efforts, as well as ensuring timely communication across the organisation. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of incident response capabilities through playbook development, simulation exercises, and post-incident reviews. In addition, you will build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and managed security service providers to support incident response activities, ensuring SLA compliance and effective collaboration during critical events. You will stay current with emerging threats and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures, and integrate threat intelligence into response strategies to strengthen nbn’s overall cyber defence posture. A bit about you If this sounds like the role for you, it’s likely that you have extensive experience in cyber incident response and threat analysis, along with a strong understanding of infrastructure networks and cloud platforms. You are confident in leading under pressure, making informed decisions quickly, and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You are passionate about continuous improvement and building cyber resilience, and you thrive in environments where collaboration and precision are key.
