We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Intern to join our Information Security team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working alongside experienced professionals.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are seeking a Cyber Security student with excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for tackling new security challenges. Next to that:

• You are pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, ideally in 3rd or 4th year HBO program with a basic understanding of security principles.
• You are familiar with security tools and technologies (such as Defender ATP, Firewalls, antivirus, and email security systems), along with a foundational knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and incident response or digital forensics.
• You have strong skills in analyzing and addressing security issues with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• You possess exceptional spoken and written English, able to communicate complex information clearly to various audiences.
• You are capable of working effectively both as part of a team and independently.
• You are available from January/February 2025 for at least 5 months.

In this role, you will support key areas of information security, including monitoring, incident response, and compliance to strengthen our organization’s security posture. You will be assisting in:

• Security Alerts and Incident Response: Monitor and analyze security alerts, assist with incident response, and document findings to maintain a complete log for future analysis.
• Email Security Management: Review flagged emails, determine legitimacy, take action accordingly, and provide reports on email security trends, including responding to user-reported phishing emails.
• Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Management: Research emerging threats, support vulnerability assessments, and help update threat intelligence and vulnerability databases.
• Security Awareness and Training: Contribute to security awareness materials and training, including simulated phishing exercises to educate employees on identifying phishing attempts.
• Policy and Compliance Support: Support policy reviews and updates, assist with compliance to standards, and participate in audits to identify and mitigate risks.
• ISO27001: Collaborate with the ISMS team on ISO27001 certification by creating and reviewing policies as needed.
• General Support: Provide support across security projects, help manage security documentation, and actively participate in team discussions on security improvements
