Job Description We’re looking for a Cyber Security (Operational Technology) Engineer to join our team and help safeguard the future of our business at Viva Energy Australia. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and support cutting-edge security controls across Operational Technology (OT), Information Technology (IT), and IoT environments. You’ll be the go-to expert for secure operations, compliance, and continuous improvement partnering with stakeholders to deliver practical, business-focused solutions. This is a newly created position, giving you the chance to shape our cyber security strategy from the ground up. Responsibilities Technical Skills Excellent knowledge of cyber security principles, management frameworks, and practices, particularly relating to OT. Experience with application whitelisting, SASE, firewalls, proxy, email filtering, anti-malware, DLP, cloud platforms, and other security technologies. Familiarity with DevSecOps, automation, and orchestration tools. Experience with vulnerability management/scanning, web application security, API security, Zero Trust, PAM, NDR, UEBA, and network-based encryption. Proficiency with Microsoft (Azure, O365), Linux (Red Hat), and mobile platforms (iPhone & Android). Soft Skills Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Ability to identify, assess, and communicate cyber security risks. Leadership Experience providing thought leadership or mentoring within a cyber security context Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, IT, engineering or related field. Industry certification (e.g., CISSP or equivalent). Minimum 3 years’ experience in cyber security roles, with a focus on OT environments. Demonstrated experience with AESCSF, ISA/IEC 62443, ASD Essential 8, or NIST frameworks.
