WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

For our Cyber Security Specialist vacancy we are looking for a new colleague at our Amsterdam based office. As a Cyber Security Specialist you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect Ayvens Bank’s IT infrastructure, networks, and data. This role focuses on threat detection, incident response, access control, and vulnerability management to safeguard our systems from cyber threats. The Security Engineer works closely with IT and security teams to enforce best practices, automate security processes, and ensure compliance with industry standards. By proactively identifying and mitigating risks, this role plays a critical part in maintaining a secure and resilient environment.
Ayvens Bank is an Online Savings bank and it is part of Ayvens Bank N.V. The bank has started their activities in online saving products in the Netherlands since 2010 and in Germany since 2015 and have obtained over 280.000 clients managing over 14 billion euro’s. Ayvens Bank consist of a team of +/- 30 employees. The IT team consists of four people in total and works closely together with the three major outsourcing parties.

As a cyber security specialist you are responsible for:

  • Develop and implement security best practices for Microsoft Azure;
  • Plan and implement network segmentation, Zero Trust models, and secure VLANs;
  • Secure and monitor our (cloud) environments to detect misconfigurations and unauthorized access;
  • Set up firewalls, Virtual Private Clouds, security groups and other network security measures;
  • Configure and manage user roles, permissions, Multi-Factor Authentication and least-privilege access;
  • Implement and maintain security monitoring tools (e.g. SIEM, IDS/IPS) to detect and respond top cyber threats;
  • Ensure secure data storage and transmission using encryption and DLP Policies;
  • Investigate security incidents, analyze logs, and apply remediation strategies to prevent future attacks;
  • Deploy and manage systems that detect and prevent malicious activities;
  • Use scripting languages like Python, Powershell or Bash to automate security processes;
  • Conduct security awareness training to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices;
  • Support the Ayvens Bank Information Security officer in executing the Ayvens information security policy;
  • Review penetration test reports, resolve findings where possible and monitors follow-up with suppliers together with the ISO;
  • Responsible for maintaining and regularly reviewing security documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with current standards;
  • Configure, monitor and maintain firewalls to block unauthorized access;
  • Configure and monitor firewalls, antivirus software, and endpoint protection platforms;
  • Ensure cloud and network environments adhere to Industry standards such as GDPR and NIST barometer;
  • Coordinate regular vulnerability scans, security assessments and pentests;Align security policies with internal cybersecurity frameworks like NIST to maintain compliance.
