Job Description:
Salary Range: $32,238.00 - $36,536.00 annually (Depending on # of completed Co-op terms)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Enrolled in a co-operative education in a post-secondary institution, in the field of technology.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity technologies (e.g., Active Directory, EDR, SIEM, Vulnerability Management, SOAR, DLP, MDM, Cryptography, IAM, PAM/
  • Skills in Threat Risk Assessments, Security Governance, Security Operations, Security Engineering, Security Architecture
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal).
  • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong willingness to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Accountable for providing cyber security services and support in the areas of information technology security risk, system vulnerability assessment and business assessments across FSRA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the delivery of the Security Awareness Training and Phish Test campaigns including selecting content, drafting materials and presenting to users)
  • Collects background information, analyzes stakeholder responses and drafts reports in support of the team’s conduct of cybersecurity risk assessments.
  • Performs research of industry trends, and best practices for cybersecurity related matters.
  • Investigates potential security incidents escalated from various cybersecurity event sources.
  • Participates in cybersecurity incident response activities, from triage and containment all the way to eradication and recovery.
  • Assists in the evaluation, procurement and deployment of leading cybersecurity technologies and solutions that FSRA is considering enhancing its cybersecurity posture.
  • Prepares Change Advisory Board material so that selected systems can be implemented to production, liaising with IT teams to facilitate deployment to production and ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitors operational systems and responds to alerts and events to ensure they continue to operate
  • Monitors and maintains cybersecurity controls (e.g., Cybersecurity Risk Assessment process, Security Awareness Training, and Security Governance activities.
  • Assists in performing vulnerability management activities – scanning, analysis, interpretation, communication, and remediation.
  • Provides cybersecurity consulting services to the rest of FSRA by responding to inquiries and providing subject matter knowledge through various channels.
  • Develops and maintains process and procedure documentation.
  • Monitors and responds to inquiries to the cybersecurity mailbox.
