Description

Company description

dpa-IT Services GmbH is the IT backbone of the German Press Agency (dpa) – one of the world's leading independent news agencies. As a subsidiary of dpa, we are responsible for IT infrastructure, business-critical applications, modern cloud and data center infrastructures, and digital workplaces for the entire dpa Group.

Are you comfortable navigating the complexities of information security, compliance, and technical IT security? Do you want to not only design security measures but also drive them forward independently and implement them in collaboration with the relevant experts? Then join us in shaping the information security of one of Germany's most recognized media brands.

To strengthen our information security team, we are looking for a Cyber Security Specialist (m/f/d) to join our Hamburg office as soon as possible on a permanent, full-time basis (38.5 hours per week).

The job + The responsibility

  • You identify and analyze technical and organizational weaknesses, derive prioritized measures, and monitor their implementation.
  • You evaluate new projects, software, SaaS and AI solutions from a security perspective.
  • You plan and manage security audits and penetration tests, handle security incidents, and actively participate in emergency and crisis management exercises.
  • You will work closely with IT and development teams, supporting them in the secure design of systems, networks and cloud environments.
  • You provide recommendations across organizations and are the contact person for questions relating to information security.
  • You translate security requirements into practical guidelines and concepts.
  • You will support the development of awareness measures to strengthen safety awareness.

You + Your strengths

  • Completed studies in (business) informatics, IT security, a comparable qualification or a technical career path with proven experience in IT security.
  • Solid technical understanding of IT security, cloud computing, networking, and modern IT infrastructures (e.g., AWS, Microsoft 365, EDR, Zero Trust). You can technically evaluate findings and translate them into pragmatic actions.
  • Experience in security assessments, vulnerability management, and audit preparation.
  • Knowledge in the field of ISMS (e.g. ISO27001, BSI Basic Protection, NIS2) is a plus - either from the setup or from the practical support of audits.
  • You communicate with IT teams on a technical level and can explain complex issues clearly to management.
  • You work proactively and independently: you identify risks, weaknesses and potential for improvement on your own and ensure the implementation of appropriate measures.
  • Experience with AI security is a welcome bonus.
  • Excellent German and English skills.

We + Our Culture

  • We offer varied tasks with plenty of creative freedom and personal responsibility, and we look forward to your ideas.
  • For us, the success of the team is what counts, which is why we support each other: Look forward to an open and appreciative working atmosphere and collaboration on equal terms.
  • We offer 13.8 salaries and at least 30 vacation days plus 7 additional days off for a working time of 38.5 hours/week.
  • You will primarily work at our Hamburg location: modern facilities, just steps from the Alster lake, and with an in-house cafeteria. Mobile working options are available upon request to help you balance your work and private life.
  • Look forward to attractive social benefits and other advantages for our employees.
  • Grow with us: We promote your professional and personal development through training and further education.
