QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with twenty (20) year’s experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and, complexity. Four (4) years of additional general engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
  • Multi-discipline background including both hardware and software product development.
  • Ability to objectively assess possible architectural limitations or shortcomings in such areas as scaling, speed, and throughput.
  • Knowledge of internal workings of Ethernet switch ASICs.
  • In-depth knowledge of telecommunications and routing protocols.
  • Experience supporting system and software architecture development, requirements analysis, design, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools and test integration.
  • Proficiency in Linux.
  • Experience working with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPv4/6, etc.
  • Familiarity with Python, C/C++ code development, shell scripting, and test and configuration management tools.
  • Understanding/background in programmable switch technology.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance w/poly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Arista EOS, MPLS, Multicast, and Software Defined Networking (SDN).
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Jenkins, SoapUI.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Kibana and Grafana.
  • Knowledge of SIGINT system end-to-end data flow and components.
Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior System Engineer to support our team in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. The System Engineer will be responsible for architectural design and development, end-to-end engineering of interfaces, both internal and external, and architectural level system engineering activities. Work will also include definition and management of system requirements and verification activities. The preferred candidate should be able to work and function in a dynamic environment where requirements can change according to the customer’s needs. The ideal candidate will have a multi-discipline background including both hardware and software product development.
