DESIRED SKILLS AND TRAITS:

  • Computer Science degree or network administration diploma and vendor certifications
  • 3 or more years of field experience, including 2+ years of progressive infrastructure and cloud services administration experience
  • Two or more of the following certifications aligned with the objectives of the role are required:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA’s Network+
  • (ISC)² SSCP – Systems Security Certified Practitioner
  • (ISC)² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
  • CompTIA CySA+ (Cybersecurity Analyst)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting cybersecurity project implementation and execution within multidisciplinary teams, including activities such as threat analysis, documentation of security protocols, and timely coordination of tasks to meet project milestones.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating system architecture
  • Strong working knowledge of cloud-based architectures
  • Strong networking fundamentals, including deployment, upkeep and configuration of switching, firewalls and IP devices
  • Experience using scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc)
  • Proven administration experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace at a 2nd level tier
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace services
  • Microsoft certifications are a plus
  • Security focused certifications (provide a description of your professional career trajectory)
  • Production experience troubleshooting and managing:
  • Windows Server and Linux (bonus) Environments
  • Virtualization – ESXi, Proxmox and Hyper-V
  • Active Directory Group Policies
  • Completing systems management via PowerShell
  • MS Azure platform
  • Amazon AWS
  • Experience using ConnectWise Manage, ServiceNow or Datto AutoTask alongside Datto DRMM and IT Glue are a big plus
  • Candidate must be clearly understood by our clients over the telephone, meetings and in writing
  • Available to work occasional after hours or weekends as work requires

WORK FROM HOME SETUP REQUIREMENTS:

  • To be able to work well from home you’ll need to have a comfortable, quiet workspace with no interruptions.
  • The workspace must comfortably accommodate a laptop and three 24” monitors.
  • Computer, monitors and peripherals will be provided
  • Fast and stable Internet connection (50 MBPS download or better, 25 MBPS upload or better, i.e., Rogers Ignite 150U, Bell Fibe 50). You will be responsible for paying for this internet connection.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Be jointly responsible for implementing, supporting and managing our clients’ security initiatives which includes on-premises and cloud-based environments, and end-user groups ranging from 10 to 150 users.
  • Hands-on security administration and support of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments, endpoint devices, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS,and related technologies
  • Troubleshoot and support of production systems including Windows Servers, MacOS, Linux, Virtualization (ESXi, Proxmox & Hyper-V), Active Directory, MS Exchange, databases, IIS, and Network Devices (firewalls & switches, wireless networks), VPNs.
  • Take ownership of assigned problems and work with senior members of the team, analyzing incident records, identifying trends or significant problems for further investigation and taking the problem through its life cycle.
  • Improve disaster recovery processes and participate in cybersecurity incident response management.
  • Provide support to production systems in a 24x7 environment (some afterhours/on call is required)
  • Assist in vulnerability and patch management for our clients
  • Assist in the implementation of security projects that help protect our clients’ assets.
