SUMMARY

CyberUp is looking for enthusiastic technology professionals to help us ignite the curiosity of the youth in our community and create more informed digital citizens. You don’t need to be a teacher because we provide all the lesson plans, materials, and training. You just bring your passion for technology and your commitment to inspiring the next generation.
Lesson topics include digital citizenship, media literacy, cybercrime, cyberbullying, digital footprints, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

  • Passion for working with youth and sparking curiosity about technology and cybersecurity.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple, age-appropriate terms.
  • Reliability and punctuality to ensure consistency for students and schools.
  • Positive attitude, patience, and flexibility when working in classroom environments.
  • Team player who can collaborate with teachers, CyberUp staff, and fellow volunteers.
  • Basic familiarity with technology and internet safety concepts (training will be provided).
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in-person at local schools (volunteers must be located in the St. Louis area).
  • Complete a school district–mandated background check ($25 fee).
  • Attend a virtual orientation with CyberUp, where we’ll walk you through activities and share best practices.
  • Use our ready-to-go lesson plans and materials to teach cybersecurity in a fun, age-appropriate way.
  • Model professionalism and encourage positive engagement in every classroom visit.
