At RunBuggy, we’re searching for a Cybersecurity Data Engineer who thrives on challenge and innovation. In this pivotal role, you’ll be part of our Engineering team, working in a cross-functional role safeguarding both our products and infrastructure. You’ll lead the charge in identifying and neutralizing emerging threats, investigating incidents, and driving rapid resolutions that keep our business secure and resilient. What You Will Be Doing: Infrastructure Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems. Independently create and own new data capture/ETL’s for entire stack and ensure data quality. Work with cloud-based data storage and processing solutions (Docker and Kubernetes[DE1] ). Data pipeline maintenance including debugging code, monitoring, and incident response. Optimize pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artifacts. Build out and support a DAG orchestration cluster framework. Migrate workflows from batch processes to the DAG cluster via concurrent data flows. Cross Team Collaboration Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure. Collaborate with engineering to enforce data collection and data contracts for API’s, databases, etc. Security Systems Support buildout of data pipelines for the security team who will leverage data for threat detection and prevention. Attend security team meetings to align scope of work to data requirements. Implement data security and privacy best practices. Data Maintenance Lead data engineering projects and determine the appropriate tools and libraries for each task. Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data, triage issues and resolve. Define and manage Service Level Agreements for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership. Create and maintain technical documentation for data engineering processes. Requirements What You Bring to the Team by Way of Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience as a security engineer or DevSecOps engineer supporting development, infrastructure, and incident response teams. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Demonstrated understanding of Cyber Security Engineer principles, secure SDLC, and incident detection and response. Proficiency in Python and experience with data engineering libraries (e.g., Pandas). Experience with ETL processes and tools. Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience with data warehousing solutions. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Experience with building and managing DAG clusters (eg Airflow, Prefect) Ability to work with the following: JavaScript, Node.js, AngularJS, Java, Java Spring Boot Knowledge of machine learning and data science workflows. Experience with advanced persistent threats, phishing, social engineering, and enhanced authentication methods. Familiarity with cyber security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements. Ability to work independently and lead projects. Strong attention to detail, QA skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: Professional certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) are preferred. Travel Requirements: Depending on candidate's location, travel to Tempe, AZ quarterly and travel to the Bay Area every other month is expected.
