About the Team Security Automation & Integration Engineering (SecAIE) transforms cybersecurity operations by architecting intelligent automation that turns manual processes into scalable, decision-accelerating systems. We're the engineering excellence partner within Cybersecurity and Trust—building the unified data foundation, intelligent automation, and decision support tools that enable security teams to make precise, data-driven decisions at machine speed. We partner closely with Security Leadership, Operational Teams, Engineering Teams, and Governance/Risk Teams to deliver platforms that multiply their effectiveness. Our current flagship initiative is building a security metrics and analytics platform—consolidating security data into actionable, Board-ready insights that drive strategic decisions. We're a small, high-impact team that values curiosity, pragmatism, and collaboration. We believe working solutions beat perfect designs, unified context beats massive datasets, and partner success is our success. About the Role We're looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to join SecAIE and contribute to our security metrics, analytics, and automation initiatives. You'll build the data pipelines, automation workflows, and integrations that turn security data into actionable insights. This role is ideal for someone who loves solving data problems, building practical solutions, and collaborating across teams to deliver outcomes that matter. Responsibilities: Design and build data pipelines that ingest, transform, and enrich security data from diverse sources into our curated security metrics layer Develop automation and integrations connecting security tools with enterprise platforms (Slack, Jira, cloud services) to accelerate response and reduce toil Write clean, maintainable Python code for data processing, API integrations, and automation workflows Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) for AWS-based data and automation platforms Collaborate with partner security teams to understand their data needs and translate requirements into working solutions Iterate quickly: prototype, test, ship, learn, improve About You You're a curious, practical engineer who'd rather ship something useful than debate perfection. You're comfortable working across the stack—wrangling data, building APIs, automating workflows, and occasionally debugging infrastructure. You communicate clearly, ask good questions, and genuinely enjoy collaborating with others to solve hard problems. Basic Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or security engineering roles Strong Python skills with hands-on automation experience Experience with SQL and data processing (Spark, Pandas/DataFrames, or similar) Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) Experience with containerization and CI/CD (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) Demonstrated ability to build integrations with enterprise tools and APIs Other Qualifications: Experience with distributed data technologies (Spark, Trino, Hive, S3) Experience building Slack bots, workflow automations, or enterprise tool integrations Exposure to security tools, data, or concepts (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, identity systems) Familiarity with ML/AI concepts or experience applying them to practical problems Frontend development experience (React, dashboards, data visualization) Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces where you define the solution, not just implement it Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter. At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email accommodations@workday.com. Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process! At Workday, we value our candidates’ privacy and data security.
