As a global leader in cybersecurity, we help organizations protect their digital environments and securely accelerate their digital transformation.   We are looking for a Sales Engineer with a robust background in Cyber Security who will be a technical advisor and then a trusted advisor to our customers.   Along with Sales, senior Systems Engineers, and Solution Architects, you will be a great support to customers throughout their sales cycle. Applying your current technical knowledge, you will be able to execute and later on, you will expand your role towards technical leader- and advisorship.   This role is a fantastic opportunity to progress within Fortinet to a Senior Systems Engineer.   What You Will Do   * In technical pre-sales engagements, support the sales teams through customer meetings, demos, RfX responses and proof of concept activities. * Leverage your cybersecurity background to identify your clients’ needs and implement the most suitable Fortinet solutions. * Help partners and customers to create the best security and network architectures that are tailored to our customers requirements. * Gradually take on responsibility for technical areas or solutions. * On complex opportunities, work together with senior Systems Engineers, Consulting System Engineers (CSEs), Solution Architects, and partners. * Be the lead on customer workshops, technical presentations, and enablement activities * Maintain and continuously expand your knowledge of Fortinet technologies, integrations, and industry trends   What We Are Looking For   Required: * 3–5+ years of experience in Cyber Security or Network Security (e.g. firewalling, SOC, SecOps, cloud security, network engineering) * Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN, WAN, routing, switching, SDN) and security concepts (NGFW, IDS/IPS, encryption) * Interest in customer-facing, pre-sales, or consulting-oriented roles * Strong communication skills and willingness to develop presentation and workshop capabilities * Self-motivated mindset and ability to work in a dynamic sales-driven environment * High level of personal responsibility and ownership of your customer projects * Fluency in both German and English and confidence presenting in both languages are essential.   Nice to Have (can be developed on the job): * Experience with FortiOS or similar security platforms * Exposure to one or more of the following areas: * Data center architectures (ACI, NSX-T) * Security architectures (Zero Trust, SASE) * Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) * Security Operations (SIEM, SOAR, automation) * Infrastructure automation or scripting (Ansible, Terraform) * Familiarity with security standards or regulations (ISO 27001, NIS2, GDPR, BSI)   Your Development & Growth   We actively invest in your development through: * Mentoring and coaching by senior Systems Engineers and SMEs * Hands-on involvement in real customer projects and sales cycles * Structured onboarding, labs, and Fortinet certification programs   Why Join Fortinet   * Join one of the strongest Pre-Sales organizations in the security industry * Work with cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies and real-world customer challenges * Clear career progression and continuous learning opportunities * Flexible remote work with moderate travel (20–50%) * Inclusive, diverse, and high-performing team culture   If you enjoy solving complex security challenges, working with cutting-edge technology, and being trusted as a technical leader, Fortinet offers you the platform, scale, and support to thrive.
