POSITION SUMMARY:

Granville College is seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Cybersecurity Risk Management Program Instructor to join our faculty. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and industry-relevant instruction to students enrolled in the Cybersecurity Risk Management Program. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in cybersecurity, risk assessment, IT governance, and threat mitigation who is passionate about education and student success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CompTIA Security+, or similar are highly valued.
  • Minimum 35 years of professional experience in cybersecurity and risk management.
  • Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with current cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and technologies.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students from diverse backgrounds.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, and other risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory aspects of cybersecurity.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and online delivery tools.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver course content in cybersecurity, risk management, information security, and compliance using various instructional methods (in-person, virtual, or hybrid).
  • Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in alignment with curriculum standards.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and academic support to students.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay current with trends, tools, and threats in the cybersecurity field.
  • Participate in curriculum development and program reviews to ensure industry relevance.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with academic staff and administration to support student achievement and program outcomes.
