Description

EMCO Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Cybersecurity Specialist IV to provide expert-level cybersecurity support for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. The specialist will apply deep knowledge of cybersecurity standards, policies, and best practices to ensure the protection, compliance, and security of enterprise IT environments, specialized systems, and mission-critical operations.
This role will play a key part in NASA’s enterprise transition from Cisco telephony to Microsoft Teams Phone, ensuring compliance with Enhanced 911 (E911) requirements while safeguarding systems, data, and communications infrastructure .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 12+ years of progressive, relevant cybersecurity experience, with demonstrated expertise in enterprise cybersecurity programs and system security design .
  • US citizenship is required in order to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
  • Deep familiarity with federal cybersecurity policies, CSPP, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong background in system vulnerability/risk analysis, system integration, and secure design practices.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise security solutions, authentication systems, and firewall theory/configuration.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex security issues and recommendations to both technical teams and senior management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting NASA, DoD, or other federal agency IT/cybersecurity programs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Phone integration and telephony security.
  • Demonstrated success in securing enterprise communications systems with E911 compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity standards, procedures, and processes in coordination with Government stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments across enterprise, special-purpose, and mission systems.
  • Design, engineer, and implement secure system architectures that meet CSPP (Cybersecurity System Protection Plan) requirements.
  • Identify, document, and report security violations, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  • Recommend and implement cybersecurity solutions tailored to organizational and mission needs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity policies, regulatory frameworks, and NASA IT security directives.
  • Provide expert guidance to senior management on balancing mission needs with security requirements.
  • Secure telephony transition activities (Cisco desk phones/Jabber to Microsoft Teams Phone) ensuring E911 compliance for emergency location reporting .
  • Support full system development life cycle with security analysis and integration.
  • Maintain operational security of data assets, authentication mechanisms, firewall configurations, and digital signature processes.
