Description Job Summary: Under the leadership of the Systems Administrator, the Cybersecurity Specialist will ensure the organization’s network, computer hardware, and data are protected from security breaches and cyber threats. Key duties include implementing security protocols, maintaining antivirus systems, managing access controls, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring encryption of confidential data. The position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Duties/Responsibilities: Implements plans to safeguard computer data against accidental or unauthorized adaptation, destruction, disclosure, or other breach. Ensures system security; improves server and network efficiency by training users and promoting security awareness. Collaborates with users to understand and support a variety of issues and needs, including data access, security violations, and programming modifications. Maintains anti-virus protection systems, keeping current knowledge of the latest threats and ensuring software is appropriately updated and functional. Adapts and updates security processes, applications, and tools to incorporate new software and correct errors. Coordinates and schedules the implementation of data security protocols with internal staff and outside vendors. Manages third-party risk assessments and tests of data processing systems to ensure proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures. Maintains access control and IP security camera systems, including managing vendor relationships Ensures that confidential information being transmitted is appropriately encrypted. Documents policies, procedures, and tests related to computer security and emergency measures. Compiles evidence to be used in prosecuting cybercrimes, as necessary. Assist with systems administration, as necessary Performs other related duties as assigned. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Thorough understanding of computer programming and risk management. Thorough understanding of computer-related security systems, including firewalls, password protection and authentication, and site-specific controls on physical access to computers Excellent and constructive interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with an emphasis in cybersecurity required or 2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, designations, and experience. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. May be required to work unpredictable hours in emergencies.
