Description Position Summary: Under the direction of the IT Systems Manager, the Cybersecurity Technician serves as a dedicated security operations resource within Lakeland Care Plus Technology. The role is responsible for monitoring, investigating, responding to, and escalating security events across LC Plus and its client environments. The Cybersecurity Technician will also assist in the build and maintenance of the LC Plus Technology Phishing Awareness Program. The Cybersecurity Technician also supports policy and procedure documentation, evaluates security events and logging, assists with end-user training, and ensures device compliance throughout the lifecycle. This position is structured as an entry-level professional role with significant growth potential. The successful candidate brings a foundation in cybersecurity principles, curiosity, and strong technical troubleshooting skills. The Analyst contributes directly to LC Plus Technology’s security posture while developing advanced capabilities through mentorship and real-world experience. The position requires flexibility and dependability in a 24/7 security monitoring context, responding to alerts, events, and incidents as part of LC Plus Technology’s proactive protection and response posture. Essential Competencies: Monitors and responds to security alerts and events with consistency and accuracy. Owns assigned tasks related to phishing, device compliance, documentation, and follow through to completion. Analyzes security alerts, identifies false positives, and determines appropriate escalation. Assists in vulnerability identification and remediation activities. Maintains complete and accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions. Actively participates in continuous improvement of security processes, tooling, and user awareness. Collaborates with infrastructure, service desk, innovation teams, clients and vendor partners to ensure coordinated response. Communicates clearly and timely when escalating or documenting security events. Promotes security awareness and best practices across all connection channels. Assists with internal and client-facing cybersecurity and compliance initiatives to strengthen overall security posture. Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, and alignment with LC Plus’s mission and values. Represents LC Plus professionally when interacting with internal teams, clients, or vendors. Work Relationships and Scope: Reports directly to the IT Systems Manager. Collaborates with LC Plus Technology teams, including Infrastructure, Service Desk, and Innovations. Also, works with vendors and external security partners. The role includes operational monitoring, incident response support, phishing program administration, compliance tracking, and documentation. Working Conditions: Work is largely performed remotely, or in an office environment, with minimal chance for personal injury. The position requires flexibility to respond to security alerts outside standard business hours as part of LC Plus’s 24/7 monitoring and response capability. Some evening, weekend, or on-call work will be required. Travel between offices or occasional out-of-town business travel may occur. Requirements Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity, information systems, computer science or related field is desired (in progress or completed), or equivalent combination of formal education and experience preferred (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities). Foundational understanding of Windows and Linux server administration. Essential knowledge of core cybersecurity principles including incident response, secure configuration, and firewall fundamentals. Networking basics and security tooling. Experience with scripting (Python or PowerShell) and automation workflows preferred. Strong interest in cybersecurity with a demonstrated willingness to pursue professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst). Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues, document findings, and collaborate effectively with others. Participate in a 24/7 monitoring and alert response rotation. Knowledge of computer equipment and network systems. Ability to diagnose and take corrective action in addressing computer/network problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and willingness to learn new software applications. Strong organizational ability. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
