Psicon is a specialist neurodevelopmental service working both privately and with various NHS trusts to provide autism and ADHD assessments. We are an independent organisation, but most of our work is for the NHS, whom we are proud to support. Assessments are carried out by our team of associate clinicians from a range of clinical backgrounds, in satellite clinics across the country and remotely. Responsibilities

Due to service growth, we are currently recruiting for a HICBT to support our children, young people and family service. The successful candidate will be able to provide specialist psychological assessments and contribute to the therapy service. Be able to offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to colleagues and to other non-professional carers. Can work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of Psicon’s policies and procedures.

Principle duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assessment and treatment of individuals with mental health problems.
  • Assessment and treatment of individuals with neurodiversity.
  • To manage a caseload of children and young people presenting with mental health presentations such as anxiety and low mood as well as neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASD/ADHD.
  • To support and treat children, young people with complex presentation, focus to include dual diagnosis (for example patients with mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions).
  • Able to consider information from assessment and formulate treatment plans, prepare thorough clinical reports of the highest standard, and be able to communicate conclusions and recommendations after assessment to clients and other relevant parties if appropriate.
  • Contribute to Child, Young People and Family Service team meetings.
  • Attend regular clinical supervision.
  • Deliver supervision where appropriate and as directed by the clinical lead.
  • To complete both Child Safeguarding Training and Adult Safeguarding Training at Level 3.To contribute to training initiatives (internal and external) at Psicon as required.
  • To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development pro-grammes, and in consultation with the Director and the HR & operations manager.
  • To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice in psychology across the ser-vice, by continuing to develop the skills of a reflexive and reflective scientist practitioner, taking part in supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of psychology and related disciplines.
