Description
The Cytogenetic Specialist independently performs a variety of cytogenetic and cytogenomic analyses of hematologic and oncologic samples, which has diagnostic and prognostic implications in patient care. Performs chromosome banding, chromosome microarray, fluorescence in situ (FISH), and/or Nanostring cancer signature analyses. Individual Cytogenetics Specialists will have different responsibilities (i.e., primarily cytogenetics, primarily chromosome microarray analysis, or primarily Nanostring analysis) depending on the individual's experience and training and specific needs of the clinical laboratory. Education Bachelor's Degree Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology Required Master's Degree Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology Preferred Experience 2 years experience in clinical cytogenetics or molecular biology/genetics Required Licenses Amer Soc Clinical Pathology Preferred
