Description

Facilitates operation of the cytogenetics sections of the department. Trains and supervises section staff. Assures that existing and new laboratory procedures are approved, performed correctly, and reported properly. Affects improvements, ensures quality of apparatus, equipment and materials. Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting organization regulations, which include required quality assurance and other documents. Maintains efficient record systems and consistent, clear lines of communication with the medical director of the laboratory section. Education Bachelor's Degree Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, Medical Technology or Clinical / Medical Laboratory Sciences Required Experience 3 years experience in relevant laboratory section Required General Experience and knowledge of licensing, accreditation and regulatory requirements Preferred Licenses Amer Soc Clin Path-Cytogen Preferred
