Description

Residing on the Heckfield Estate is Heckfield Place, a Georgian family home now lovingly restored to a luxury hotel and surrounded by our 438 acres of secluded Hampshire countryside.
Originally established as part of the Estate in the mid 19th century, Heckfield Home Farm was an exemplar of the self-sustaining relationship between land and house. When Heckfield Place was restored, we re-established this relationship and today our ‘estate to plate’ ethos sees us supplying fruit, vegetables, flowers, meat and dairy to the hotel’s restaurants, bars and well being space, along with year-round flower decorations for the hotel and its rooms.
Our 340-acre Heckfield Home Farm is mixed arable and livestock, certified organic and farmed biodynamically. Suffolk sheep and saddleback pigs graze the land and flocks of chickens supply eggs for our businesses. We have a herd of Guernsey cows and a purpose built dairy to produce our own milk, and there is also a five acre biodynamic Market Garden that is supplying both the hotel’s restaurants and our London businesses with beautiful and truly seasonal produce.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Dairy Assistant to join our Dairy team.
You will be assisting the Dairy in the production of a range of dairy products, which may include whole and semi-skimmed milk, cream, butter and yoghurt and others in line with business demands.
Although previous experience in a similar position is certainly an advantage, more importantly we are looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm for artisanal dairy produce, who is willing to learn and uphold our organic and biodynamic approach, and who will maintain exceptional hygiene and housekeeping standards.

· Adjustments of key variables/parameters of the process and demonstrate how adjustments impact the finished product.
· To execute Autonomous Maintenance activities - general cleaning, inspection of equipment to prescribed standards.
· To detect equipment abnormalities and improve to prevent future equipment deterioration.
· To maintain equipment performance through the understanding of equipment structure and functions and able to discover the cause of equipment abnormalities.
· To work independently or with a team and utilize problem solving tools (RCA, 5 Why) to determine root cause, eliminate losses, and improve processes. Training can be given in this area.
· To ensure full compliance with Departmental Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
Our ideal candidate will:
· Have previous experience of working in a manufacturing/production role, food and drinks manufacturing experience preferred though full departmental training will be provided for the right candidate.
