Fixed-term: Start of July until the end of October Part-time - guaranteed 25 hours per week Drive in/Drive out Join our friendly team, located in Colyton, Fielding THE OPPORTUNITY Travelling around New Zealand and looking for a fun, hands-on role, or you might be a seasoned calf rearer. Come work with our awesome team at the Moutoa Calf Rearing Facility and help raise our next generation of healthy, happy calves. You’ll be responsible for caring for young calves, feeding, weighing, drafting, drenching, and monitoring their health and welfare. Animal wellbeing is our top priority, so you’ll champion our high welfare standards. You may also assist with milking the herd or general farm duties. This is a drive in/drive out role, so reliable transport is required. This is a fixed-term position from July to the end of November 2026, with part-time hours – we guarantee at least 25 hours per week. THE FARM Moutoa Calf Rearing is a newly established facility located in Colyton, Manawatū. Designed primarily as a dairy beef operation, the unit features tunnel housing capable of accommodating up to 400 calves at a time. We focus on rearing Friesian bulls as well as Hereford and Angus-type calves, which are raised to a target exit weight of 100kg. This spring, we aim to rear between 900 and 1,100 calves through the facility. ABOUT YOU You don’t need heaps of experience - just a good attitude, strong work ethic, and care for animals. If you're practical, reliable, and enjoy being outdoors, we want to hear from you.
