This is a fixed-term role, with an anticipated end date of mid-December 2026 Join a supportive – high performing team Drive in/drive out position Located just south of Westport THE OPPORTUNITY Join the high-performing team at Bassets Dairy as a Dairy Farm Assistant. In this role, you’ll assist with a range of farm tasks - from milking, calving, and feeding stock, to effluent management, spraying, and fencing. You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day operations and work closely with your team to help meet production and animal welfare goals. You’ll receive full training and support, and we’ll encourage you to take the initiative, develop your skills, and support newer team members along the way. This is a fixed-term role until mid-December 2026. Please note, there is no accommodation with this role, so it is a drive-in, drive-out position. ABOUT US Pāmu Landcorp Farming Limited is a State-Owned Enterprise with over 110 farms across New Zealand. Our purpose is to lead the delivery of innovative and sustainable agriculture solutions for future generations. THE FARM Located just 10 minutes south of Westport, Bassets Dairy milk 1060 Kiwi Cross Cows using a 60-bail rotary with ACRs and Milk Hub. The farm is approximately 460 ha effective and 120 ha bush with rolling terrain and sandy soils. ABOUT YOU You’ll bring a willingness to learn, get stuck in, and contribute to the team’s success. Ideally, you’ll also have: Experience in a similar dairy farming role (or a strong interest in developing one) Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team A proactive attitude with initiative and commitment to animal welfare and health & safety The ability to coach and support junior or new staff where required A current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence We’re proud to have a supportive and inclusive culture at Pāmu.
