THE OPPORTUNITY We’re looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to join the high-performing team at Discovery Dairy. In this role, you’ll assist with a range of farm tasks — from milking, calving, and feeding stock, to effluent management, spraying, and fencing. You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day operations and work closely with your team to help meet production and animal welfare goals. You’ll receive full training and support, and we’ll encourage you to take the initiative, develop your skills, and support newer team members along the way. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a great work ethic and a passion for farming. Enjoy being part of a culture that values safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement. THE FARM Discovery is in close distance to Taupo, and is approximately 300 effective ha, which will milk 700 cows through a 54-bail rotary. The location has great schooling options nearby and has easy access to a fantastic range of outdoor recreational activities including water sports, hunting, fishing, and mountain biking. ABOUT YOU You’ll bring a willingness to learn, get stuck in, and contribute to the team’s success. Ideally, you’ll also have: Experience in a similar dairy farming role (or a strong interest in developing one) Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team A proactive attitude with initiative and commitment to animal welfare and health & safety The ability to coach and support junior or new staff where required A current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence BENEFITS We offer a competitive salary package, including health and life insurance, enhanced parental leave benefits, and up to 4% KiwiSaver matching.
