OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Hand to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for farming and a willingness to learn and grow within the role. As a Farm Hand, you will play an essential part in maintaining the farm’s operations, ensuring that cows are milked and calves are fed effectively and efficiently. This position requires physical stamina, problem solving, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Job starting wage has flexibility to increase based on work ethic, team work, commitment and punctuality!

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred
  • Familiarity with large animals is a must
  • Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods of time.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety practices on the farm are essential attributes for success in this role.

    Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain skidsteers and small tractors to keep feed pushed up and pens clear of manure.
  • Utilize power tools and hand tools for various tasks, including repairs and maintenance of farm equipment.
  • Milk cows, feeding calves, and bringing cows to milking parlour.
  • Perform heavy lifting as needed for transporting materials and produce around the farm.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including storage of tools and equipment.
  • Monitor cow health, help treat and report any issues or concerns to management.
  • Support general farm operations, including cleaning as required.
  • Apply basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating quantities during farming activities.
