Description

POSTITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Dangerous Goods Officer who will be actively involved in the day-to-day handling, preparation, labeling, and coordination of hazardous materials across our logistics operations.
This role is NOT supervisory in nature but requires direct execution of tasks including preparing Dangerous Goods Declarations (DGDs), applying correct labeling and documentation, and guiding warehouse staff during packing. The ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of IATA regulations and must ensure that every DG shipment is compliant, accurate, and efficiently processed.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience handling Dangerous Goods in the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Valid and current IATA Dangerous Goods Certification (Air) certifications are a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of UAE GCAA and Dnata/ SkyCargo regulations related to DG.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

  • DGD Creation & Iata Manual: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • IATA DG License (4.1D) or Previously known as CAT-6 (Preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with international and local regulations governing the transport of dangerous goods (DG) by air.
  • Prepare, review, and verify all DG-related documentation including DGD (Dangerous Goods Declaration), MSDS, and packing lists.
  • Guide & Overview DGR packing activities in the warehouse.
  • Prepare labels/stickers & label all pallets, DGR boxes as per the IATA Manual
  • Coordinate with shippers, airlines, and authorities to ensure the proper labeling, packaging, and handling of hazardous shipments.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal teams and clients regarding DG shipments, providing guidance and resolution to technical or compliance issues.
  • Conduct DG risk assessments for incoming shipments and advise on transport limitations or special handling requirements.
  • Keep up to date with changes in dangerous goods regulations and communicate relevant updates to operational teams.
  • Participate in audits and assist with staff training in DG awareness and regulatory changes.
  • Work closely with operations, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure seamless and safe movement of DG cargo
