The GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerators for science. Currently, the new FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) one of the world’s largest research projects, is under construction through international cooperation. GSI and FAIR offer the opportunity to work in this international environment with a team of employees committed to world-class science.
The FRS/SFRS Experiment department of GSI is one of the major partners for nuclear physics experiments and application of radioactive beams. It performs experiments and developments at the cutting edge of modern nuclear science. The department enables experiments with exotic nuclei at the fragment separator FRS and conducts an original research program at the borderline of nuclear, hadron and atomic physics; the department prepares for novel experiments at the next-generation super-conducting fragment separator Super-FRS of the international accelerator facility FAIR.
