JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst will interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports. The ideal candidate for this role is detail oriented and has a strong analytical mindset and is able to turn data into insightful information that will drive business decisions. The Data Analyst will take the lead in managing, updating and extracting data from internal databases. Additionally, they will work with staff to ensure that the users’ interaction with the software is as smooth and logical as possible. This position plays an integral role in the overall development of the organization.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI, etc.), databases (SQL, MySQL, etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks), and statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
  • Occasionally required to lift or move items up to 20 pounds.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
  • Experience in data visualization techniques and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively with other disciplines and internal and external providers.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a program or project support role.
