Description

Afritracker is looking for a Data Administrator that will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of data within our Vehicle Tracking and Telematics platform. This role ensures the seamless management of vehicle data, supports operational efficiency, and provides critical information for billing and reporting. The Data Administrator will act as the link between the business, installation teams, key accounts managers, and Afrirent Operations ensuring consistent and clean data.

EDUCATION (FORMAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED)

Minimum: Certificate (NQF level 5) in Data Administration or Similar
Ideal: NQF Level 6 in Data Administration

EXPERIENCE

Atleast 2 years of experience
· Proven experience in data administration or management in a similar industry (preferably telematics or fleet management).
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise between technical teams and business units.
· Proficiency in telematics platforms and basic data management tools (Excel, databases).
· Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and rectify data discrepancies.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Experience in recommending and implementing new tools or techniques for process improvement.

Responsibilities

· Capturing new contracts on the vehicle tracking platform and ensuring accurate data entry at all times.
· Terminating contracts that have lapsed to maintain a clean and up-to-date data record of vehicles under management.
· Serve as a liaison between the business, Installation Scheduler, fleet operations, and field technicians to ensure that installation records are accurate and updated on the system.
· Compile all required data and documentation to be submitted to the finance department for accurate and timely billing.
· Perform regular data cleanups to ensure the system holds the correct and current data on all vehicles and devices.
· Manage all active and non-reporting units, ensuring regular updates from Key Accounts Managers and reflecting accurate information on non-reporting units in the system.
· Generate reports as required for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
· Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Fleet operations teams to improve data accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
· Drive continuous improvement by recommending and implementing new tools, processes, or technologies to enhance data management and reporting.
