Job Description Earlier this year, LGC assumed responsibility for managing the MRC’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio. As part of this transition, a significant number of data quality issues have been identified within the portfolio. These issues have been fully scoped, and we are now seeking a detail-oriented Data Administrator to support the essential data cleansing and validation work required to bring the portfolio up to the highest standard. This role is ideal for someone who excels in structured data tasks, enjoys problem-solving, and can confidently work with large and complex datasets. Key Responsibilities Clean, validate, and standardise IP portfolio data in line with defined quality criteria Use Excel and SQL to identify discrepancies, incomplete fields, and data integrity issues Support the tracking and reporting of progress on data cleansing activities Work closely with colleagues across the IP management and data functions to clarify requirements and resolve anomalies Maintain accurate documentation of updates, changes, and process steps. Qualifications Essential Criteria Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and data manipulation Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating data Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving Ability to work with large datasets accurately and efficiently Good communication skills, with the ability to clarify data requirements and inconsistencies Desirable Criteria Understanding of intellectual property (IP) and the patenting process Experience using Wellspring Sophia or similar IP management systems Experience using Salesforce Prior experience in data cleansing, migration, or portfolio administration Additional Information Compensation, Benefits & Working Arrangements: Salary: £29,200 PA Location: Victoria, London Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract, 3 months Working Hours: 37.5 per week, 7.5 hours per day Immediate starters required How to Apply If you are excited about the prospect of joining our team and believe you possess the relevant skills and background, we invite you to apply.
