Description
Location: Barcelona (Hybrid; minimum 60% on-site presence required) Role Overview As Data Platform Lead, you are the single point of contact for Data & AI across the Manufacturing and Supply Chain platforms. You will activate and govern data domains, shape a platform data strategy & roadmap, and deliver reusable, compliant data products via our enterprise data platform—enabling trusted, scalable data for decision-making end‑to‑end. Your Key Responsibilities 1) Strategy & Roadmap Define and maintain a platform data roadmap aligned to business outcomes and portfolio priorities. Translate platform demand into data outcomes (foundations, products, quality improvements) with clear KPIs, funding asks, and value tracking. 2) Domain Activation & Governance Establish domain boundaries and ownership, onboard Data Stewards, and run governance ceremonies with clear RACI. Implement data quality metrics/rules, publish domain quality posture, and drive durable remediation at source/product. Ensure data sharing & access follow enterprise approval workflows and standardized Data Sharing Agreements. 3) Data Product Portfolio & Reuse Build and curate a catalog of domain data products (discoverable, owned, measured), enforcing standards for metadata, lineage, SLAs, and security. Drive build vs. reuse decisions and cross‑platform consumption to maximize leverage and reduce duplication. 4) Architecture & Platform Adoption Partner with Platform/Data Architects to align solutions to reference architecture. Promote guardrails, patterns, and templates to increase delivery speed and consistency while reducing bespoke builds. 5) Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Represent the platforms in Data Council and governance forums; manage cross‑domain dependencies and decisions. Lead a small core team and matrix extended squads; set clear objectives, coach for impact, and influence across business and tech. We offer. Enterprise-wide influence - shape the future of reporting and AI across all business units with high-impact, data-driven solutions. Innovation with purpose - develop and deploy cutting-edge AI models and BI tools that solve real business challenges. A collaborative ecosystem - work with digital partners, business leaders, and external experts to deliver cohesive, trusted analytics. A culture of trust and ethics - lead with integrity, ensuring AI solutions meet the highest standards of fairness, transparency, and compliance. Growth through leadership - Drive the full lifecycle of analytics products. Empowerment through enablement - champion self-service analytics and elevate data literacy across the organisation. You bring: Proven leadership in data governance, domain activation, and data product portfolios in a platform operating model. Strong stakeholder management; ability to translate strategy into a sequenced, funded roadmap with measurable outcomes. Experience setting data platform products standards. Deep familiarity with Manufacturing (MES/OPC/quality), or Supply Chain (IBP, logistics, supplier performance) data. Hands‑on expertise with modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks/Delta Lake on AWS, Unity Catalog, Informatica Catalog/MDM, dbt, Azure DevOps, Power BI) and enterprise‑grade data sharing & controls. Systems thinker and clear communicator; champions reuse over reinvention; balances pragmatism with standards; influences effectively in a matrix. Enterprise data platform based on Databricks Lakehouse (AWS) with Unity Catalog, Informatica (Catalog/MDM), dbt, Azure DevOps, Power BI, and standardized data sharing workflows. * About dsm-firmenich At dsm-firmenich, we don't just meet expectations - we go beyond them.
