POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Data Analyst (m/f/d) with a deep understanding of aviation and aeronautical engineering to support the analysis and optimization of our cloud-based flight optimization software. This software, used by pilots in the cockpit on iPad and Windows devices, helps optimize flight paths to reduce fuel consumption, save time, and enhance situational awareness.
As a Data Analyst, you will leverage your analytical skills to derive actionable insights from large datasets, work closely with cross-functional teams to improve software performance, and ensure our product meets the needs of the aviation industry. You will play a key role in analyzing customer data, understanding flight performance metrics, and providing recommendations for product improvements.

Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis
Collect, clean, and analyze data from a variety of sources, including flight performance, pilot interactions, and operational metrics from our cloud-based software.
Identify trends, patterns, and insights from real-world flight data to inform product improvements, feature prioritization, and customer needs.
Work with aviation experts to validate flight-related data points and ensure accuracy in all reports and analyses.
Flight Optimization Metrics Analysis
Analyze key metrics such as fuel consumption, flight time, and flight path efficiency to help optimize our software’s performance.
Collaborate with the product and development teams to refine algorithms and improve flight optimization features based on data-driven insights.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fuel savings, time savings, and pilot situational awareness.
Customer Insights & Feedback Analysis
Analyze customer (pilot) feedback, flight usage patterns, and operational data to better understand how users interact with the software and identify areas for improvement.
Work with product management and engineering teams to define and prioritize data-driven requirements that align with customer needs and regulatory standards.
Create detailed reports and presentations to share findings with stakeholders and recommend actionable strategies to improve the product.
Aviation Industry & Regulatory Data Analysis
Stay informed on industry trends, regulations (FAA, EASA), and technological advancements that impact flight optimization and software development.
Analyze industry data to ensure compliance with aviation standards and to understand how regulatory changes may affect product functionality.
Collaborative Teamwork
Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and aviation engineers to ensure data insights are translated into meaningful product improvements.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to share data-driven insights and support decision-making processes across the organization.
Work closely with quality assurance (QA) teams to validate and test new features from a data perspective, ensuring they meet operational and performance standards.
Reporting & Data Visualization
Develop and maintain clear, concise reports and dashboards to track product performance, user engagement, and optimization outcomes.
Present findings and insights to stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ensure that data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.) are used effectively to communicate data insights and trends to internal teams and customers.
Support Product Development & Roadmap
Provide data insights to support the development of new product features and functionality aimed at enhancing fuel savings, reducing flight time, and improving situational awareness.
Assist in evaluating the impact of new features by analyzing pre- and post-launch data to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
