DESCRIPTION

Betashares is looking for a motivated individual with a natural curiosity and a passion for solving problems through advanced data analysis. The successful candidate will capture, analyse, and proactively share information to support key projects and teams across the business. This role will support various functions such as superannuation, marketing, sales, and finance by conducting detailed analyses and presenting data-driven insights. You will work alongside an experienced team of analysts, software engineers, and data engineers to build solutions and derive insights.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to design solutions for strategic projects and interpret data for ongoing operations. The insights you provide will influence decision-making processes and improve business outcomes.
To excel in this position, you should have strong expertise in SQL and Python, as well as experience in data visualization. Additionally, you should be skilled at analysing data to create actionable insights for various stakeholders and have a passion for helping teams’ structure better analytical questions to generate more accurate answers. While an understanding of and interest in financial markets is preferable, it is not essential

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • 2+ years in a similar role.
  • Tertiary qualified in a related field such as computer science, mathematics, or economics.
  • Strong data analysis tools and software expertise, including SQL, and Python.
  • Experience with data visualisation best practices and the ability to create clear and informative dashboards in modern BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Databricks experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with behavioural and event stream analytics tools, such as Amplitude, is desired.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products, with a focus on ETFs or Super, is a plus.
  • Proven ability to prioritise multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently.
  • Strong ability to present data-driven insights to diverse audiences, including those with limited technical expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse data, use statistical techniques to interpret results, and deliver reports to various stakeholders.
  • Extract, clean, and analyse data from various sources, including SQL databases, Excel spreadsheets, and data warehouses.
  • Build and maintain BI dashboards to facilitate self-service analytics.
  • Collaborate with our Marketing team to track and analyse campaigns and provide actionable insights to optimise their effectiveness.
  • Leverage data modelling techniques to forecast trends and segment customers to enhance the customer journey.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure data is structured correctly and optimised for analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise data and analytics projects and to develop and execute data-driven initiatives.
