A Data Analyst plays a crucial role in comprehending data within the broader business context and value chain, with the aim of converting data into valuable insights for enhanced decision-making. This is achieved through scientific exploration, analytics, and data manipulation. By leveraging their expertise, the Data Analyst identifies the correlation between business workflows and data, enabling the integration of data into reusable products that can be visualized to facilitate informed decision-making by the organization.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the business stakeholders and delivery teams to gather, clean / prepare, analyze, and report / visualize data to support business decisions while maintaining data governance and compliance.
  • Data Collection: Gathering data from multiple sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and APIs, and ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
  • Data Cleaning and Preparation: Scrutinizing data to identify inconsistencies, errors, or missing information and rectifying them. This process may involve data transformation, filtering, and normalization to ensure data quality.
  • Data Analysis: Applying statistical techniques, data mining, and data visualization methods to discover patterns, trends, and correlations within the data. This analysis helps uncover insights and extract actionable information.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Creating visual representations, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to present data analysis results in a clear and concise manner. This enables stakeholders to easily understand and interpret the findings.
  • Decision Support: Collaborating with stakeholders, such as managers, executives, or product teams, to understand their requirements and provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. Data Analysts help identify opportunities, solve problems, and optimize business processes based on their analysis.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Ensuring data integrity, privacy, and security by adhering to industry regulations and best practices. Data Analysts work closely with IT and legal departments to maintain data governance frameworks and protect sensitive information.
  • Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with the latest tools, techniques, and industry trends in data analysis and actively seeking ways to improve data processes, methodologies, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, management information systems, mathematics, economics, engineering, operations research, business analytics or other relevant fields
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and some experience in Power BI and Power Apps. Able to understand the relationship between datasets from multiple source systems. Able to identify trends and outliers in datasets
  • Able to develop intuitive visualizations to explain complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels and in different areas of the organization (central IT and BU). Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of IT infrastructure concepts, to support application of internal and industry-standard taxonomies.
  • Able to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders in different teams and business units to achieve a common goal. Comfortable serving as a subject matter expert to guide stakeholders through processes with role courage. Possess strong attention to detail, to understand and communicate nuances in definitions and data.
  • Ability to build, broaden, or deepen skills in Power BI visualizations, Power App development and vendor SaaS configuration. Ability to foster understanding of how IT leadership at all levels uses spend and maturity information for data-driven decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in technical and data analysis, with a proven ability to develop data gathering and reporting solutions. Experience in IT Function Total Cost of Ownership and Benchmarking is a plus. Applicants should also possess business management skills, including stakeholder engagement and the capacity to provide consulting on IT Function Total Cost of Ownership analysis and insights.
