KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders (engineers, project managers, supply chain) to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure robust data governance, including ownership, quality rules, risk profiling, and definition management.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify trends and anomalies, then generate compelling reports and visualizations.
  • Support and train end-users on reporting tools and best practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for data analysis to boost operational efficiency and streamline processes.Stay current with data analysis tools and methodologies, continuously improving our insights.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience providing business-critical insights through data analysis.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Power BI or SSAS data analysis tools.
  • Direct experience with on-premises data environments (SSIS/SSAS) is highly valued.
  • Experience in data management within a large international company. Experience working in the maritime, defense, or manufacturing industry is considered a plus.
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Data Analyst at Damen Naval, you’ll hold a key position in empowering departments and management to make informed, data-driven decisions. Joining our Data Management team within IT, you’ll act as a crucial liaison between the business and data management, overseeing the complete data lifecycle from secure gathering to effective leveraging. Your insights will shape the design of next-generation ships, boost internal efficiency, and extend winning deals. Due to the highly sensitive nature of naval shipbuilding, all our data is managed on-premises using SSIS/SSAS and Power BI report server, ensuring a robust and secure environment.
