JOB INTRODUCTION
The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) is seeking to appoint on a fixed term basis (until September 2026) a data analyst/scientist to work on an innovative approach to assessing the change in species abundance/biodiversity across the region. This is a crucial measure needed to direct nature recovery investment and to help evaluate the effectiveness of nature recovery measures. You will join the Combined Authority nature recovery team and be based between Bristol University and the Bristol Environmental Records Centre.
Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Metro Mayor within the West of England’s Climate and Ecological Strategy Action Plan.
The post is focused on two broad themes:

To highlight, the salary range for this role is £41,511 - £44,711. It is standard policy to offer at the base of the band. As well as ensuring fairness, this allows for annual incremental rises within the tiered structure of this banding.
