Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

The reporting analyst is responsible for supporting the Reporting team and other departments around the business by managing and manipulating multiple sources of data and datasets to create reports and interpret data for required reporting and as requested.
As a Reporting Analyst, your primary responsibility is to harness data to generate insightful reports and visualisations that empower informed decision-making within our organisation. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop and refine their skills in data analysis, report development, and communication. You will work closely with an experienced team to learn industry-standard tools and techniques, such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Report Builder, Excel, and other reporting platforms.
Through collaboration, you will gain proficiency in gathering and interpreting data from diverse sources to create compelling reports and dashboards. Your contributions will directly impact our business operations and drive continuous improvement in our reporting processes. We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for learning and a commitment to excellence in data-driven decision-making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Gathering: Collect data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and other systems.
  • Data Cleaning and Preparation: Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy and consistency, including handling missing values and outliers.
  • Report Development: Design and develop reports using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Report Builder, Excel, PBI or other reporting platforms. This may include creating dashboards, visualisations, and summaries.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making.
  • Data Interpretation: Interpret analysed data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of reports through data validation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Report Automation: Implement automation processes to schedule and distribute reports efficiently, reducing manual effort.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to understand reporting requirements and gather feedback.
  • Documentation: Document report specifications, data sources, methodologies, and other relevant information to maintain transparency and facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to reporting and data visualization to improve reporting processes and deliverables continuously.
