Location: > 75% Remote, some events / onsite meetings in Wilkes Barre, PA and Plymouth Meeting, PA

Works daily with: MXA Data Analyst(s) and other data specialists, Vendor/Partner technical staff

Job Summary & Purpose:
MXA leverages data to drive business insights and support decision-making processes, internally, and for our customers (large property owners / managers) and partners (mechanical, electrical, plumbing service providers).
As a data analyst / engineer at MXA, your emphasis will be on data analysis; solving business problems and testing hypotheses via leveraging Power BI, Python, and complex SQL queries. It will be critical for you to absorb industry and company-specific context quickly. Previous analysis experience working with building, architectural, engineering, service and product pricing, accounting & finance data is a definite plus.
You will also design, build, and maintain data integration solutions across our third-party and custom-built applications, both to streamline operational workflows as well as ensuring data is loaded accurately and efficiently into MXA’s data warehouse.
We are a small team, and we favor candidates who are passionate about data, but more broadly experienced and interested in different aspects of data work, versus deep experts in one specific method, activity, or tool.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Analyze data: Develop queries, model data, answer and ask questions of MXA and third-party data
• Visualize / share data: Design and implement Power BI reports and dashboards
• Design, document, implement, test and support/troubleshoot MySQL relational database tables, views, triggers, stored procedures
• Design, document, implement, test, and support/troubleshoot data integration / ETL projects via Make.com, AWS Lambdas (Python), and when necessary, Power Automate
• Design, document, implement, test and support/troubleshoot nosql database and file system data storage solutions (this is expected to be infrequent)
• Update project and task status frequently
• Collaborate on work prioritization and dependencies
• Roughly estimate work to be done
• Any other tasks assigned by management

Data-Centric:
