About the role

This is a fixed term role for 2 years.

The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, consolidating, analysing and reporting organisational data from across MDAS systems to produce meaningful insights that support quality improvement, continuous improvement, service planning, accountability and evidence-based decision making. Reporting to the Quality and Improvements Manager, the role works collaboratively with Executive Leadership, Corporate Services, Health and Clinical Services, Quality and Risk, Program Managers and ICT to translate data into clear reporting products, dashboards and recommendations that improve organisational performance and outcomes for community.

The role supports the development of organisation-wide reports, dashboards and reporting frameworks, including Power BI where appropriate, by drawing data from multiple business and service systems. The position is not an ICT systems administration role; rather, it partners with ICT and business system owners to access, understand and use data safely and effectively, ensuring reporting is accurate, culturally informed, privacy compliant and focused on quality, governance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the development and delivery of organisational reporting, dashboards and data insights to support strategic decision-making and performance monitoring.
• Manage data collection, analysis and reporting systems to ensure data integrity, governance, accessibility and continuous process improvement.
• Support organisational quality, compliance and risk management through performance monitoring, trend analysis and evidence-based recommendations.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Relevant qualifications in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Quality Improvement, or a related discipline are desirable. Equivalent experience, systems capability, and a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development will also be highly regarded.
• Experience working within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), health, community services, or the not-for-profit sector is desirable, with an understanding of service delivery environments and commitment to supporting community outcomes.
