Melba Support Services is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Data Analyst to join our passionate team. This is a permanent full-time hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work from home and from one of our vibrant offices located in Cheltenham or Lilydale. STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & REQUIREMENTS GATHERING

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business challenges and translate them into data and insights to support data based decision making
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and departments during system implementations to define reporting needs and identify the most effective solutions.
  • Partner with technical and non-technical teams to ensure shared understanding of requirements, data, and goals for alignment on delivery. Collaborate closely with the Head of Data & Insights to support strategic priorities and ensure that platform enhancements align with business objectives.

YOUR BACKGROUND (SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on data and analytics.
  • Strong attention to detail that is focussed on data quality, accuracy, and completeness
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in data and visualisation tools such as SQL, Python, R (including R Studio), Excel, Power BI, and Domo.
  • Exposure to working in the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem is advantageous
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesise information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to understand and map data requirements to business outcomes.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable with change and able to challenge the status quo to drive better outcomes.
  • Knowledge of healthcare or NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) industry standards and practices is preferred but not essential.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check.
  • The ability and relevant driver’s license to perform travel and perform work at different locations as required.
  • Compliance with OHS&W regulations, legislation, and Policies and Procedures is required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment safety screening checks, mandatory training, and their subsequent renewals is necessary.

POSITION PURPOSE

Working under the direction of the Head of Data & Insights this position will build, test and continuously improve the data platform and analytics capability within Melba. Collaborating with key stakeholders this position will focus on translating business needs into actionable data solutions by developing, enhancing, and maintaining robust data platforms, reporting tools, and visualisations. The role will also support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency by gathering requirements, analysing data, automating workflows, and ensuring data governance, while promoting continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
