Description

About Sleeping Duck

At Sleeping Duck, we don’t just make mattresses, we're on a mission to transform sleep and health through engineering and clinical innovation.

Sleeping Duck is a collective of engineers, designers, customer advocates, and medical professionals united by a shared mission: to create meaningful improvements in the quality of our customers’ lives. We focus on optimising sleep, because better sleep means more energy, better focus, and a greater capacity to thrive each day.

One of our most exciting innovations is the Z10 Body Fit System, engineered in collaboration with a neurosurgeon and leading physiotherapists. Developed to support patients experiencing chronic pain and those undergoing surgery, the Z10 is delivering exceptional results, and is currently available exclusively through physiotherapists. Projects like this are what drive us: complex problems, human-centred design, and life-changing outcomes.

I’m Chao, Head of Technology, and I’m looking for a driven Junior Data Analyst, on a 12-month fixed term contract, who wants to build high-impact solutions, take true ownership of their work, and directly shape how we scale. In this role, your insights won't just sit in a dashboard, they’ll drive decisions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Who I am looking for

For this, you will need to embody the following qualities:

  • Ownership mindset: You take ownership of your work and outcomes. You understand that your contributions directly impact the business.
  • Willingness to Learn & Take Feedback: You are comfortable and open to feedback. You’re genuinely coachable.
  • Resilience & Grit: You handle uncertainty and setbacks well. You keep moving forward when things get challenging.
  • Team Player Mentality: You collaborate genuinely and support your teammates. You care about lifting the team, not just yourself.
  • Honesty & Pragmatism: You communicate directly and focus on what actually delivers value.

With the launch of new products, services, and clinical trials, data analytic requirements will change quickly in line with changing business needs. You’ll need to be creative and resourceful, but most importantly, stay positive and embrace that process. This is a unique growth and learning opportunity for the right person looking to expand their knowledge and experience.

This will be an ideal role for you if you enjoy the responsibility of autonomy, and working on the most pressing business priorities within a fast paced environment.

What the role looks like in practice

Work Set Up & Cadence

  • 4 days in the office and 1 day WFH
  • We work in a fortnightly cadence, with 2-week sprints, plus some buffer for exploratory work.
  • At the start of each fortnight, we’ll align on priorities and decide what’s most important to tackle.
  • You’ll be given high-level goals, not detailed tickets or spec docs.
