Data Analyst, Health Information Management - 1 position

Salary Range: $37.77 - $44.42 /hour
The focus of the Data Analyst (DA) is the timeliness, reliability and usability of health data. They are responsible for the submission and mandatory data reporting to the MoHLTC, CIHI and other agencies. The DA promotes the quality of health information by auditing, identifying trends, data outliers and issues that require attention. The DA is the subject matter expert in patient-based funding and collaborates with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) is required.
  • Diploma in Health Information Management
  • Active membership with Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
  • 3 years of coding experience in Health Information Management
  • Proficiency with ICD-10-CA, CCI, Canadian Coding Standards and CIHI abstracting requirements (DAD, NACRS)
  • Knowledge of Canadian hospital funding methodologies (CMG+, RIW, QBP, HIG)
  • Experience generating reports for internal stakeholders and/or regulatory bodies (Finance, CIHI)
  • 1 year of experience working with Cerner
  • Experience with abstracting systems (Med2020, 3M/Solventum)
  • Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy with coded data
  • Experience in data audits, quality improvement, and clinical documentation improvement
  • Analytical and validation skills
  • Advanced computer skills working with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills (written & oral) along with a strong customer focus
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
