OVERVIEW Hendall is seeking a skilled Data Analyst with strong quantitative, analytical, and data management expertise to support a project team at the Office of Head Start (OHS). The Data Analyst will be responsible for processing, interpreting, and analyzing complex datasets to inform data-driven decision-making and support program improvement efforts across Head Start and Early Head Start programs. In this role, the analyst will perform a broad range of data management and analytical functions in support of ongoing program operations, monitoring activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The position plays a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that strengthen program performance, enhance accountability, and support the mission of OHS. DUTIES The Data Analyst will support the Office of Head Start in advancing program objectives through expertise in data management, analysis, reporting, and continuous process improvement. Key responsibilities include: Contribute to the collection, management, and dissemination of Head Start data and information systems. Analyze program data and performance metrics to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and provide actionable insights to OHS leadership and stakeholders. Make recommendations for modification or enhancement of existing processes to meet evolving OHS demands. Serve as a primary data liaison to Head Start stakeholders, including Central Office staff, Regional Office teams, technical assistance providers, and grant recipients. Receive, validate, clean, transform, and prepare data from multiple electronic sources for analysis, reporting, and system integration. Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports that effectively communicate program performance, outcomes, and key findings. Establish, document, and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of data. Update and enhance data processing operations to incorporate new data elements, reporting requirements, and business rules while maintaining data quality and timeliness standards. Provide targeted training to OHS staff, Regional Office staff, or grant recipients to support the implementation and utilization of data systems. Collaborate across Regions to support a comprehensive data integration effort. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, economics, or a related field 3+ years of professional experience in receiving, analyzing, processing large datasets. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communications skills Early childhood or Head Start experience preferred. Experience with Excel, Python, R, and SmartSheets preferred. Experience with data visualization and survey methodology preferred.
