Position Summary The Data Analyst – Image Capture & Quality will support GMLx’s partnership with Scalpel, a health-tech company leveraging AI and computer vision to improve surgical safety. This role is critical in capturing, validating, and auditing surgical instrument tray images that power Scalpel’s advanced computer vision models. The analyst will be on the frontline of this AI-driven process—ensuring images are accurate, consistent, and high-quality. The position requires a balance of hands-on data capture in hospitals and distributor warehouses, meticulous quality control, and close collaboration with both GMLx operations staff and Scalpel engineers. This is an entry-level role. Scope of Role Responsibilities Capture and curate surgical tray images using Scalpel’s imaging setup at customer sites Perform QA checks on images for resolution, lighting, focus, consistency, and completeness Maintain structured metadata and documentation for all captured and annotated datasets Collaborate with annotation teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in labelled data Partner with Scalpel’s AI engineers to align image capture with model requirements Troubleshoot and take ownership of errors, coordinating with customer and sales teams when necessary Document and refine capture protocols to ensure reproducibility across multiple GMLx/Scalpel locations Requirements Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required 1–2 years of industry experience is a plus Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, conditional formatting, and complex data analysis tools (e.g., Power Query, macros, and dashboards). Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in large datasets Initiative in problem-solving and ownership of issues through resolution Proficiency with structured workflows, data entry, or ERP/QA systems preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical collaboration Comfortable working in varied environments, including hospital and warehouse settings Experience in high-growth or fast-paced settings preferred Physical & Location Demands This role requires onsite work at hospitals or distributor warehouses for image capture, combined with remote work for QA and data analysis. Tasks include: Standing, bending, or positioning camera equipment at capture sites Prolonged periods of sitting at a computer for QA and documentation tasks Frequent use of hands for typing, mouse use, and equipment handling Occasional lifting of equipment (typically less than 25 pounds) Ability to travel locally to hospital or warehouse sites as required EEO At GlobalMed Logistix, our people are the driving force behind everything we do.
