Job Description

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s in biological sciences required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years experience in laboratory and data analysis.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate solutions to problems and work in a team environment is required.
  • Ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Absolute integrity in the processing of customer samples and reporting results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

Responsibilities
  • Process data runs by plate sheet records and due date.
  • Verify QC acceptability.
  • Review data for overall quality.
  • Enter requests for confirmations, reruns, and additional testing if indicated.
  • Process data for calculation of relationship.
  • Transfer data to electronic reports.
  • Identify case non-conformances, such as sample switches, entry errors, and gender inconsistencies.
  • Prepare kinship statistics.
  • Verify that data meets review criteria and relationship percentage and combined index guidelines.
  • Forward files for final review, print data, and draft reports if needed.
  • Monitor eligible cases that are due each day to ensure they are completed.
  • Read and follow all policies and procedures in the DDC Quality Manual and safety procedures.
  • Completion of HIPAA compliance training.
  • Other duties as assigned or become evident.
