Provides professional administrative and data management support for the Department of Infection control and Professional Affairs. Performs a wide variety of administrative activities as well as data extraction, entry and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, manage, and analyze infection control and communicable disease data from multiple hospital systems and databases (e.g., SCM, NHSN, Allscripts, ChartMax).
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of infections and communicable diseases to the Department of Health, CDC, NHSN, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct data validation and analysis for C. diff, multi-drug resistant organisms, surgical procedures, and device-related infections.
  • Collaborate with Infection Preventionists on surveillance, outbreak investigations, regulatory reporting, staff education, and committee support.
  • Generate and distribute infection control reports, dashboards, and presentations to leadership and staff.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for the Infection Control Department, including scheduling, inventory, timekeeping, billing, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive clinical and departmental information at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of secretarial/administrative assistant and data management experience in medical (preferably hospital) environment
  • Experience with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Healthcare Safety Network preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access to the degree required by the position
  • Familiarity with hospital clinical systems e.g. Allscripts, SCM, Chart Maxx
  • Knowledge of hospital functions and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position.
