About the Roles The Analytics and Insights team in the Workforce Planning branch are seeking to fill three full-time temporary roles based in Martin Place Sydney, Temporary role up to 30 June 2027 Temporary role up to 12 months from commencement Temporary role up to 10 June 2026. As a Data Analyst, you’ll collect, validate, and analyse workforce data to inform and shape public sector programs, policies, and initiatives. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across multiple agencies, ensuring data accuracy and delivering clear, impactful reports that drive strategic decision-making. Expect to work on diverse projects, applying both quantitative and qualitative research methods, and contributing to the design and execution of solutions for complex workforce challenges. Your expertise in data governance and critical analysis will help maintain high standards and uncover trends that make a real difference to the NSW public sector. We're Looking For Data Analysis and Interpretation: Demonstrated experience in conducting statistical and inferential analysis using software such as SPSS, R, STATA or SAS, including cleaning, transforming and interpreting large, complex datasets Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Proven ability to analyse complex data, draw insights, and provide evidence-based recommendations, even when working with incomplete or ambiguous information Data Governance and Ethics: Understanding of data governance principles and ethical standards, with experience ensuring data privacy, accuracy and responsible use in analysis and reporting Communication: Strong ability to present analytical findings in a clear and compelling manner through written reports, visualisations and verbal briefings tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to understand data needs, manage expectations and deliver analysis that informs decision-making Project and Time Management: Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality analysis under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment We value diverse experiences.
