Job Description Job Description & Person Specification: Reporting Line: Line Manager: Operations Support Manager Matrix Manager: FSS Construction Director Role Purpose: The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting operational and strategic decision-making through the development of business intelligence dashboards, manufacturing analytics, and data insights. The role partners closely with manufacturing, production, and planning teams to transform complex operational data into clear, actionable insights that improve production visibility, drive operational efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Data Analytics & Reporting: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards to support production monitoring and operational reporting. Perform data modelling, transformation, and data cleansing using Power Query to ensure accurate and reliable datasets. Develop and maintain measures, KPIs, and business logic using DAX. Extract and manage data from SAP and other enterprise systems to support reporting and analytics. Business Partnering: Collaborate with production, manufacturing, and planning teams to understand operational challenges and analytical requirements. Translate business needs into effective data visualisation and reporting solutions. Support stakeholders in interpreting data and applying insights to operational decision-making. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational optimisation, and efficiency gains through data analysis. Support initiatives that improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytics capability within the operations function. Contribute to the development and standardisation of reporting frameworks and KPI definitions. Data Governance & Integrity: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data sources used within dashboards and reports. Promote best practices in data management, documentation, and reporting standards. Key Deliverables: Operational Power BI dashboards for production monitoring Standardised KPI reporting and performance metrics Automated and scalable data reporting solutions Insight-driven recommendations supporting operational improvements Reliable and well-governed operational datasets Success Measures: Success in this role will be measured through: Accuracy and reliability of reporting outputs Adoption and effectiveness of dashboards by operational teams Improved visibility of operational performance metrics Identification of measurable process improvements through data insights Timely delivery of analytical support to stakeholders Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities: Analytical Capability: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful insights. Data Visualisation & Business Intelligence: Experience designing intuitive dashboards and visualisations that enable stakeholders to easily understand and act on data. Technical Skills: Power BI (including Power Query and DAX) Advanced Microsoft Excel Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP Data modelling and transformation techniques Stakeholder Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships across multiple operational sites. Organisation & Time Management: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within tight timelines. Education & Experience: Essential: Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline Proven experience using Power BI, including DAX and Power Query Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Desirable: Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems Experience supporting manufacturing or operational environments Additional Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive.
