Sifted’s Product Analytics team is a blend of Data Analysts and Scientists who are committed to expanding and enhancing our product offerings. This is achieved by having a key insight and understanding into our client’s data and carrier’s data structures. This person thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a track record of creating alignment and inspiring trust with their peers and with the business stakeholders. She/he will be able to work in a high-performing team with deep capabilities to build out a dynamic software platform based on best practices; one that can be easily adapted to meet the rapidly changing needs of a growing company focused on market domination.
Requirements:

The Product Analytics team is expected to be the foremost authority on clients data and understanding the ins and outs of carrier shipping. We use this insight to build out Sifted’s product lineup, automate, and enhance our current platform with new key insights and tools. We own a variety of jobs that power critical parts of the Sifted platform and have to ensure that it is running reliably on a daily basis.

• A variety of Ad-Hoc report requests supporting our Logistics Intelligence and customer facing teams
• Monitor data science jobs to ensure they run reliably and act quickly in case of failures
• Continually improve and expand data science jobs to offer better tools to our clients
• Work with clients on custom reporting needs and solution with them to solve their use case and needs
• Identify new insights in the data and build reporting to track and monitor KPI’s
• Deliver reports and dashboards to clients and executive teams, ensuring clear and meaningful insights
• Support internal teams with better visibility into our client base and company needs to drive Sifted’s direction
• Train and educate internal and external users on how to better use Sifted’s data tools and dashboards

Carrier shipping data is very unique and we are learning every day. We don’t expect you to already be a pro at all the specific things we are working on but the ideal candidate would be:

• Eager to learn a new world of data and gets excited at digging into unique problems to find solutions
• Able to quickly digest large amounts of data and drill through to find the underlying answers
• Take business feedback and quickly implement and come up with solutions
• A background in Data Science or Analytics
• Comfortable speaking with and collaborating with clients
• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Design, develop, and continuously improve scalable software solutions
• Proficient in one or more of the following languages: SQL, Python, R
• Familiar with data warehouses and structures: Snowflake, RDS, Databricks
• Comfortable with and exposure to one or more BI platforms: PowerBI, Sigma, Tableau, Looker
• Contribute to all aspects of software development, test automation, and deployment pipelines
• Collaborate in teams consisting of engineers, product managers, data scientists and analysts
• Develop & implement processes to improve software quality, cost-effectiveness, and feedback loops
• Desire to learn new business processes, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to rapidly apply lessons learned, and the desire to collaborate across the organization

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years data science or analytics experience
• Comfortable in a mix of SQL, Python, R or other coding languages
• Familiar with data visualization and dashboard tools such as Sigma, PowerBI or Tableau
• Familiar with Machine Learning algorithms and using those to create scalable data models
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Able to take complex data and create clear and easy to understand narratives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Comfortable presenting and training internal users and external clients
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, or equivalent field
• Denotes an essential function of the role.
