About the Role The Data Analyst is an entry-level position within the Credit Underwriting department. This role is designed to provide foundational training and development in credit analysis, underwriting, and commercial lending. The Data Analyst supports the credit team by analyzing financial information, spreading financial statements and tax returns, assisting with covenant compliance monitoring, and preparing credit documentation for smaller exposure loans. The position provides structured exposure to commercial loan underwriting, financial statement analysis, risk evaluation, and regulatory compliance within a U.S. banking environment. Essential Responsibilities Lead with and model SSB&T’s core values, embedding them into data strategy, governance, and team culture. · Complete assigned training and development programs to build proficiency in credit analysis and underwriting. · Assist credit analysts and loan officers with tracking financial documentation and covenant compliance requirements. · Spread borrower financial statements and tax returns in nCino and support accurate data entry for assigned credits. · Assist with financial covenant testing, including analysis of cash flow and debt service coverage. · Support Loan Operations by monitoring financial statement status and maintaining documentation within nCino DocMan. · Perform other duties as assigned. Employment Commitments & Physical Requirements · Non-Exempt · Full-time · Monday- Friday 8am-5pm · Community/ volunteer involvement · Focus-intensive position requiring extended periods of sitting and digital navigation. · Occasional walking, standing, and use of office equipment. · Must possess close visual acuity and clear speech for verbal communication. Location & Travel · Position is in Fredericksburg, Texas (Operations 2 Building) · Travel may be necessary depending on business needs Requirements Candidate Requirements · Ability to adapt to growing business needs and structural changes. Candidate Preferred Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. · Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). · Ability to analyze and interpret commercial and consumer financial statements and tax returns. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. · Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills. · Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to approving authorities. · Prior banking experience preferred but not required.
